8 sessions over four weeks.

This power skating clinic focuses on how players generate speed, control edges, and move efficiently.

As skates, blades, and sharpening profiles have evolved, so has the way effective skating is taught. We account for modern boot stiffness, blade profiles, and glide when coaching posture, stride mechanics, and edge work.

Mental performance is woven throughout. Simple focus cues, body awareness, and regulation skills help players stay adaptable as intensity rises. The goal is skating that is powerful, composed, and repeatable.

"The clear goal setting, mental resilience training, and fun on-ice drills have made these my kid's favorite hockey clinics by far."

The math behind our camps vs. traditional options:

Traditional Options
  • $800 – $1,200 for 16 skates
  • That breaks down to $50–$75 per hour.
  • 30-40 players on the ice at once.
Headspace Hockey
  • $545 or 8 hours of ice time plus 2 hours of sports psychology training.
  • This breaks down to $54 per hour, with small groups ensuring personalized coaching.
The Difference
  • Traditional programs: $50 – $75 per hour with little individual focus.
  • Headspace Hockey: $54 per hour with personalized coaching and mental fitness training.
Research-Based Training

The game has gotten smaller and more complex. We incorporate the latest in biomechanics, neuroscience, and tech to help athletes succeed in today's game.

Mental Fitness

At the highest levels of sports, it's the mental game that makes a difference. We teach kids how to bounce back, embrace confidence, and be a good teammate.

Cognitively Challenging Tasks

Hockey is faster than ever. Our trainings are cognitively faithful to the challenges of the game, helping kids develop both mental and physical speed.

Actually Fun

Boredom is the enemy of learning. We create truly fun environments which boosts learning retention and makes students want to come back.

Our Training PhilosophyWhat is Mental Fitness?
My daughters and me
About the Coach
I'm Josh Chambers. I'm a licensed therapist with OHL and NHL experience, and I believe much of today's athletic development is outdated.

To prepare for training camp with the Red Wings, I hired a skate doctor and experienced firsthand the power of precise, individualized training. I had spent countless hours at power skating clinics over the years, but it was those focused, personalized sessions that made a real difference. That experience transformed how I think about training.

Then there was the mental side—something I had no training in but desperately needed. Four games after training camp, a slapshot to the face fractured my skull. The mental toll during recovery was significant and gave me a new perspective on the psychological side of development.

When I began coaching my daughter, I saw a clear lack of both innovative skills training and mental fitness in hockey development. That’s why I started Headspace Hockey: to combine cutting-edge skills training with sports psychology, helping build confident, resilient athletes.
