Backwards Skating + Embracing Mistakes
Takes place on a school holiday. Generate speed and power, maintain balance, improve transitions, and move laterally to close the gap.
We ditch outdated drills for precision-focused, agility-driven training and we incorporate the latest in biomechanics and neuroscience.
Players are pushed to skate faster and shoot harder, but they're rarely taught how to handle pressure, stay focused, and bounce back from setbacks.
Drill-mills are boring and unhelpful. We keep our classes intentionally small so each player gets personalized attention and guidance.
We create truly fun environments that boost learning retention and makes students want to come back, no matter the age.

Whether it's mastering a particular skill, enhancing hockey IQ, or building mental resilience, each lesson is customized to fit the athlete’s goals.
Improving lateral movement, getting to know the nuances of your edges, ankle positioning analysis, generating speed through turns.
Refining skating mechanics, improving stride efficiency, and developing explosive power. P:sture, balance, and edge control.
To prepare for training camp with the Red Wings, I hired a skate doctor and experienced firsthand the power of precise, individualized training. I had spent countless hours at power skating clinics over the years, but it was those focused, personalized sessions that made a real difference. That experience transformed how I think about training.
Then there was the mental side—something I had no training in but desperately needed. Four games after training camp, a slapshot to the face fractured my skull. The mental toll during recovery was significant and gave me a new perspective on the psychological side of development.
When I began coaching my daughter, I saw a clear lack of both innovative skills training and mental fitness in hockey development. That’s why I started Headspace Hockey: to combine cutting-edge skills training with sports psychology, helping build confident, resilient athletes.
Headspace Hockey was created to fill a gap in hockey development—bridging the mental and physical aspects of the game. Our mission is to help young athletes thrive on, and off, the ice.
I'll be adding more clinics and classes. Sign up to stay in the loop.
